Re-registering an AirLink OS router on AMM

Re-registration means that an AirLink OS router, which is already registered to an AMM, needs to be registered again — either because the user wants to move it to a different AMM instance, or re-register it on the same AMM.

Note: Once an AirLink OS router is registered with AMM, changing secret keys on the gateway will not affect its registration status with AMM.

    Re-Registration Process

To re-register an AirLink OS router with the same or a different AMM instance:

    1. Deregister the device from the current AMM.
    2. Back up the configuration (see Configuration Backup section below).
    3. Perform a factory reset of the device. The reset clears the existing registration data on AirLink OS router and prepares the device for a fresh registration sequence.

    Configuration Backup

To preserve your existing settings during re-registration, on the AirLink OS router, use Create a Template from Current Configuration (not Create template from Scratch).

    Ensure that you :

    1. Exclude any AMM configuration (By default it should already be excluded).
    2. Include manually inserted secrets (e.g., Wi-Fi passwords) into the template before saving.

    Next Step: Device Registration

Once the device has been factory-reset, follow the Transitioning AirLink OS routers to the AMM procedure.

    1. During registration, apply the AMM-provided secrets.
    2. After registration, reapply the saved template to restore your configuration.
