How to change settings on multiple devices?

Use Apply settings (CSV) to apply one or several settings (up to 15) to multiple systems.

An example use for this feature is to update the log-in password (for ACEmanager or AirLink OS) on your devices and give each one a unique value. You can download a list of systems, populate a new, unique log-in password for each one, and have AirVantage update each device the next time they check in.

Apply settings (CSV) uses the .csv download/upload method used for system configuration throughout AirVantage. After selecting the systems (all with the same device type and firmware) and then selecting the settings you want to change for all of them, you create a .csv file, upload it and then apply it to change the settings on several systems at once. It is important to remember that you must select a firmware revision as a baseline for the systems you will update. This means that if you have a mix of device types in your fleet, you will need to update each group individually.

    To start

    1. Go to Monitor > Systems
    2. Under the More button, select Apply settings (CSV).

The Apply settings (CSV) window appears.

ALEOS-based systems: Generate, download, and upload a CSV file

    1. Select an Identifier for the systems: Name, Serial Number, or IMEI, for example. The identifier will populate the first column of your .csv file.
    2. Select the Settings you want to change for each system:
      • Select the application; that is, the device and software: ALEOS MP70 (4.12.0), for example. You can only change settings on identical systems.
      • Select the settings you want to change.
    3. Click Generate.
    4. After the .csv file generates, click Download your template…
    5. Edit your downloaded .csv file to add the new values for the settings you want to apply to each system.
    6. Save your .csv file.
    7. Click Select a CSV…, browse to your .csv file and then click Open.

    Apply the settings

    1. Select Reboot the systems upon completion if you want each system to be rebooted after .csv file application.

NOTE: Applies to ALEOS-based systems only.

    2. If needed, use the Advanced settings to set a Scheduling and Timeout.

    3. Click Apply settings (CSV).

An operation is created. You can follow the progress from the Operations list. For each system, at the next heartbeat, the settings will be configured, overwriting the previous values.

For AirLink OS devices (XR90, XR80 and RX55 routers, for example), you must select an existing dataset from which to select the setting(s) you want to change for multiple devices. For more information about datasets, see How to create a dataset? .
