Due to the progressive migration of AirVantage to a new infrastructure, we need to move the existing AirVantage DNS and the reverse proxy to a new IP address. The IP address for AirVantage will therefore change to 52.24.215.63 within Dec 2015 (for the NA server). From this date onwards, all DNS queries for domains na.airvantage.net and na.m2mop.net will be returning the new IP address.
In addition a new entry point dedicated to NucALEOS devices will be introduced to allow us to monitor and manage some of the unique properties of these devices. The new entry point is: nucaleos-na.airvantage.net with IP Address: 52.33.28.183
This change will be transparent unless you use a static IP address instead of the domain name for filtering or for accessing the service.
By default AirLink gateways are configured with the communication url to AirVantage as the domain name na.m2mop.net. If your gateways are still using this default configuration (and unless you have additional specific network configurations) the change will be transparent.
However you will have to make configuration if you are in one or more of the following cases:
If your firewall is configured to limit the outgoing traffic IP filtering on the IP address 64.46.61.134, you have to add 2 additional IP addresses: 52.33.28.183 (for NucALEOS devices) and 52.24.215.63 (for LinALEOS devices) before the migration on December 2015. Please leave the old IP address 64.46.61.134 until further notice.
If your devices are configured with a static IP address instead of the domain name for accessing the service, we recommend switching back to domain name. If you still need to use a static IP address on your network configuration, you have to replace the IP address by the new one 52.24.215.63 before the migration within December, 2015. To ease transition, both the old and new IP addresses will be supported until December.
If you have subscribed to the VPN option of AirVantage, the move the existing AirVantage DNS and the reverse proxy will be transparent. However, additional infrastructure changes will require VPN migration in the future. You will be contacted directly by your sales representative to schedule the migration.
If you have any questions or issues regarding this change, please contact your usual Sierra Wireless sales / support contact.
